Longhorns and Cowboy

I made these artist trading cards from a larger watercolor that I did not like. I cut the size traded them out. The city of Fort Worth has a herd or long horns they take out everyday for a stroll in the stockyards. They are beautiful creatures. Here is a link http://www.fortworth.com/cowboys-culture/herd/

The Two Mona's

The two Mona's are an experiment with medium and paper. This green Mona is a rubber stamp sprayed with green ink and applied to mix media paper. Since I used too much ink the fine details of the stamp was blurred. I filled in around the face with micron and sharpie fine ink pens.

This is the same rubber stamp, this time I used a flat watercolor brush and applied the watercolor directly to the stamp. I laid a non bleed specialty paper on the stamp, lifting it carefully. It has some better details on the face. I colored in the face and made swirly hair with watercolor and a fine brush.

Handmade Journals/Art Journals

I love to make books, but I am not authority nor that great at it. I am always interested in different ways to make books. Ten Two Studio has an online (at your leisure) class, One Pad Art Journals. I highly recommend this class because it so easy and you make a very lovely book. Here are mine.

I found some deckle watercolor paper at my local paper store a made the book that has the charm on the cover.  I also colored the cover paper with ink to make it blue. I am planning on taking it on vacation in Galveston, Tx this August.
