I love handmade Christmas ornaments. These were made for a swap, create ornaments in an artist trading card size (3.5x2.5inches). I wanted to make each one different, they have German paper scrap and little holly berries on the top. The images came from Ten Two Studios and the Tuscan Rose. I can't wait to get my returns.

Give Thanks 4x4
This week is Thanksgiving and I have many, things to be thankful about. Friends, family, jobs and time to make art. I made this 4x4 using image from Ten Two Studios faux stamps. It is from the "Winterhalter" sheet. It has a bit of vellum across the front to create a little interest.

Christmas Microscope Ornaments
These ornaments were made from microscope slides. I soldered two slides together with the images inside. I used "Angels and Madonna's Standard Domino" sheet from Ten Two Studios. They are a little shorter than the slides, which gives you room to see a background, add lettering, or some German paper scape.

Green Domino Necklace
This necklace is made from a domino piece and left over beads from other projects.
I used alcohol inks in green and gold for the background. I found a lovely girl on Ten Two Studios "Deco Standard Domino" sheet. I did tear a little away so you can see the background.
I then applied some German scrap border to the edge of the domino. The top has a large long bead that was glued down for the string to go through. Lastly I applied some rub on gold to color the top bead and some extra highlights.
Rather than bead a necklace, I hand tied beads randomly spaced. It uses beads and pieces that would just lie around forever. It also makes for a very interesting look.

"Poe" card
I am in a swap at http://www.illustratedatcs.com called Maxicard 6x4. The requirements are to use a postage stamp to be part of the artwork or relevant to the stamp.
While cleaning up and looking though some piles (which I have many) I found this Poe stamp that I took of something that was mailed to me. So there he sits in a window inspired by the crow. Just perfect timing for this week in October.

Altered Postcard
I am hosting an altered postcard swap at my local meet up group. My daughter actually gave me this card from one her trips to Seattle. The images are from Ten Two Studios, April Fish and Dickens. I used some sandpaper to rough it up a little then used some green inks to mess around the skyline.

Witchy Rolo
This a rolodex card that I swapped out at http://www.atcsforall.com/. There is a continuous swap going on for altered rolodex cards. I now have enough to buy a card holder. They are very fun to do and receive, great way to remember your art buddies.

Ode to Lenore
Hand Colored Photographs
I have been playing with my photographs. I used Adobe Photoshop to make my photographs black and white images. I played with the contrast until most of the shadows were removed. After they were printed I used my Primsacolor markers to color in the images. They are artist trading card size for trade or swaps.

The Bench Trail

I just returned from our annual "decompress" trip to Mt. Nebo in Arkansas. This was our third trip there. I think we have found the cabin we like best.
The watercolor is my interpretation of the "Bench Trail". It has the overlook, which is the beginning of the trail, a deer we saw, Fern lake, and the last trail head for Varnall springs (orange marker) at the end of the trail.

Asian Dominoes
These are standard dominoes that I changed up. Instead of numbers I used "like" images. Even though they have no point value they are fun just the same. The images came from Ten Two Studios, Asian Standard Dominoes sheet. I cut them to fit the top and bottom, antiqued them with ink, glued over the dots (numbers)then applied gel medium to make the paper images more durable.Maybe I need to make a full set to play a game.
