The Two Mona's

The two Mona's are an experiment with medium and paper. This green Mona is a rubber stamp sprayed with green ink and applied to mix media paper. Since I used too much ink the fine details of the stamp was blurred. I filled in around the face with micron and sharpie fine ink pens.

This is the same rubber stamp, this time I used a flat watercolor brush and applied the watercolor directly to the stamp. I laid a non bleed specialty paper on the stamp, lifting it carefully. It has some better details on the face. I colored in the face and made swirly hair with watercolor and a fine brush.

Handmade Journals/Art Journals

I love to make books, but I am not authority nor that great at it. I am always interested in different ways to make books. Ten Two Studio has an online (at your leisure) class, One Pad Art Journals. I highly recommend this class because it so easy and you make a very lovely book. Here are mine.

I found some deckle watercolor paper at my local paper store a made the book that has the charm on the cover.  I also colored the cover paper with ink to make it blue. I am planning on taking it on vacation in Galveston, Tx this August.

English Miltary 1811

I joined a swap called Men and Beautiful Boys at IllustratedATCs.com. I chose to do something really different. I found an old book that described the head gear of various soldiers in 1811. I stuck with the English soldiers.  I took artistic license to color in my version.

Buddy goes to the Park

I am in another PAT (pick a theme) swap at ATCs for all.  What makes this one extra fun is the themes are to be monochromatic.  Each group has a color assign to it. The one I chose is black, white and grey.  One of my group member's theme is Boston Terriers. Here is my card.

Grid Journaling

I have been following Milliande Art Community for Women for a while now. I discoved  Milliande on You Tube about two years ago. She inspires me to get off my duff and make art.

Right now she is doing some art journaling that I really like doing. It is very relaxing working in the grids you create. It is almost like a stream of conscience. I chose to do images from outside my art room window  that looks out to the street in front of my house.

Off to do more grids

Chunky Houses

These are my little houses for a chunky house swap. I always make tabs on my chunkies. There was no theme which is good for me.
