The Da Vinci file (book)

This is a book I made from file folders that I cut up to make a book. I used all these very luscious papers for backgrounds. My images came from Ten Two Studios, the Da Vinci collage sheets and mini domino images. I also had a few of my own images I found for free. My book is bound with those screws you find for scrap books.

Iris folding fun

Here is a project that is a fun way to use up extra paper and make a dramatic statement. It is called iris folding. Here is some directions on how to do iris folding. http://gomakesomething.com/ht/iris/if-square/ I will say mine are a little different, but you can experiment. Even mistakes can look good.

Mother's Day Trinket boxes

These are small little paper mache boxes. They are covered in green distressed inked music sheets. The boxes were painted on the top and inside with a light yellow acrylic paint. I punched out the images and glued them in bottle caps along with punched flower to center the bottle cap on. The images are found at Ten Two Studios http://www.tentwostudios.com/.

China travel art journal

Here is the travel journal I made to take along on my trip to China. It has bristol, watercolor and vellum papers inside. These are some of the pages I made.

My China Trip

I was lucky enough to tag along with my husband while he worked in Hangzhou, China. I even celebrated my birthday while I was there.

Book inspired by Marie Antoinette

I found this little spiral note book that was just right for a Maire Antoinette inspired book.


At Ten Two Studios, Lisa, had the lovely little tags called "Les Chapeaux" that worked perfect for this spread. I made a little pocket to tuck in the tags.


I found this lovely double sided satin ribbon to string together the tags. I carefully cut and glued images on both sides.



On this side of the page I cut out two images from the tages and had them face each other to continue the hat theme.

Happy Valentine's Day

The little gifts in this Victorian inspired heart are pictured below. The images are from Ten Two Studios collage sheets. I used "Little Love", "Made with Love", and "Be Mine".

This is a microscope slide holder that I found at Art Chix. I did not use a glass slide, instead I just used the images directly in the space for the slide. The entire holder is recovered in paper. I embossed the word "Love" and the hearts on the front.
This is a little heart shaped book with five "pages". I glued two hearts together with a tab sticking out, this allows the book to keep the heart shape when it is bound with the brad. Below is one of the pages in the book.
